Just for Fun: What’s Your Biz Speed?

Here’s a little poll, just for fun…

I was reading something that got me musing about just how true “different strokes for different folks” is. The kind of biz environment and pace one person craves like chocoloate is often the next person’s idea of hell on earth, lol.

So what’s your preferred biz speed? How do you like things to grow? What kind kind of environment is most condusive to your creativity and ease?

Completely anonymous, but if you’d care to leave a comment, that would make things even more interesting!

(And yes, I purposely did not include anything in the middle of the road. We can ALL be “middle of the road” in some way or another, but that’s just not helpful or interesting. I want you to look and see which side of the fence you are usually more inclined to lean to).

However for whatever twisted reason I perform exceptionally well in a HIGH PRESSURE in environment. But, I prefer to the contrary because I feel more nurtured (like a hot house orchid).

I need the downtime to regroup, create and perform. If I don’t have this I eventually become ‘mediocre’ only addressing items that are considered a priority. Never regrouping to create.

  2. Oh, I totally know what you mean, Lu. I’m the same way. I’ve always been kick-ass under pressure, always the one with the calm and level head in the eye of the storm, but constant chaos is not how I want my day-to-day biz or life to be.

That’s the way I think. So for your informal survey, perhaps a third question might be appropriate?

I definitely do better in an environment that is NOT slow, but steady. I need space to breath and take it all in so it will stick in my brain. I like it fast paced sometimes, but too much of that is draining and ultimately counter productive for me.

Slow and steady is definitely how I want my daily diet of work. As others have indicated, however, the occasional sprint of “watch me pull a rabbit out of the hat” can really recharge with a boost to energy and morale.
