What Makes You Happy for 2011?

So do you make resolutions this time of year?

I’ve never been one much for resolutions. But I do tend to feel a renewed sense of energy and excitement for all the wonderful and unknown things to come.

Rather than resolutions per se, I tend to do a quick mental check of a few goals I want to achieve and things I want to focus on.

Like this new year, I have some projects that will be finally completed and I plan on taking more time out for the activities that I had temporarily put on the back-burner. I hadn’t done nearly as much bike-riding this year as I normally do. This will be a year of taking more time out, getting back to focusing again on my own business around second or third quarter, and enjoying all the hard industry work I put in these past five years.

Oh, and VIDEO! Yes!

What about you? What kind of goals or resolutions or focuses do you have for the new year? What are you excited about for 2011?

What I am most grateful for is the fact that I can hail in the new year 2011 surrounded by the love and warmth of family without whose support nothing would be worthwhile. I am particularly looking forward to continue working for the clients I have build a relationship with as I take on more project admin responsibilities. I am looking looking forward to the new relationships I will be building with previous CEO’s I worked for when I lived in Cape Town and am now back in Cape Town who want to meet with me for new opportunities. And of course, I still look forward to spending at least 3 hours a day 3 times a week at the health club doing my belly-dancing, Zumba, Kata-boxing, spa, swimming, yoga and zenpilates. I also hope to get on a bicycle and enjoy the beauty that is Cape Town. Lots to look forward too and reigniting friendships 🙂

I gave up on resolutions in the traditional sense as well. I think New Years is a great time to reflect on your successes from the previous year. Seems like a more positive way to start a new year rather than focusing on all the things you need to do better. 🙂

Totally agree with Julia. I prefer to take a look at all the achievements and enjoy them. That way I renew the energy to go for more. I hope you guys have a good list of achievements for 2010, and start a new list of goals all over again for 2011.

I usually reflect back on the last year, and improve in the new year. I also want to work on some projects, and change my workout plans. Also work on my business, and launching it this year.

I am not one for resolutions but I do try to realign with my goals at this time of year and take an extra amount of time reflecting, planning, and setting new goals.
I try to always make at least one major change in my life and I think it is fun at years end to look back and see all that I accomplished and where I still need to put effort forth.
2010 was a big year of making changes in my life. 2011 will be one of growth. I wish everyone success this year!
